about a month ago i started a photo group where byu graduates get together and talk about what is working/ not working for us in our businesses etc…its been a great chance to get feedback from peers and get ideas and ask questions. last night three of us met up for a group shoot. we went to downtown slc to an industrial area and brought three models and just had a great time trying new things and learning from one another. also check out the two others blogs for more pictures – natalie simpson and kelli saunders.
here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

last saturday bethany (a good friend of mine) and i photographed dana and marlon’s wedding. bethany and i both know dana from photography. we were all seniors together and became really close. it was wonderful to be at her wedding. they are really fun and the wedding was gorgeous. they were married in the los angeles temple and then had their reception on the beach in plia del rey. it was fun to be at a reception where everyone actually danced. i just wish i could be at their next reception in costa rica.

this morning i took newborn pictures of henry who is only 3 weeks old. i met his mom through the children’s miracle network so it was fun to see her again. henry is a really good baby and was great for the camera although he wanted to stay up and play instead of going to sleep for us. here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

we had a red eye last night and just got back from alaska. we had a great time. the highlight was backpacking through denali national park for a few days. we had two grizzly bears walk 200 yards from our camp within a half an hour of each other. i dont have any pictures of them unfortunatly because i was busy waving my arms in the air talking to the bear and walking backwards up large hill. as scared as i was i dont think they cared a bit about us. we also saw a lot of caribou, sheep, and a moose. other than that just a ton of mosquitoes. i probably have at least 30 bites.
we caught a red eye last night and so im exhausted and have a ton of work to catch up on, but here is a pic of me and tyson and one of mount mckinley. we had only about 20 minutes the whole time we wer there that we had a clear view of the mountain.

just in case anyone is trying to get on my old website it may be down for a couple of days.  i am switching servers for my new site.  if you need anything email me.

ps im loving alaska-its gorgeous!  although it is a little weird to go to bed at 11pm while it is still completly light outside.

last night i had a great time photographing whitney and joe. ive know whitney for a couple of years. i was her teaching assistant in the darkroom when she was a freshman. it makes me so happy that she is so happy. joe is great too. they were both so fun to be around and comfortable joking around in front of the camera. here are just a few favorites. i had a really hard time choosing between them all.

i am leaving town tomorrow to photograph a good friends wedding in los angelos and then i leave from there for alaska for a week. this is a much needed break. my husband has been traveling a bunch so it will be great to spend some quality time together backpacking through alaska.
if anyone needs to get ahold of me i will have limited access to email. it just may take me a couple of days to get back to you.

yesterday i got to photograph sarah and jason’s wedding. it was a beautiful wedding despite the horrible weather. we all were wet and cold, but sarah was determined to have a garden wedding and im glad she did. they were married and had their reception in sarah’s backyard. they both looked great and get the award for the most laid back couple yet. congratulations.
